We currently have 16 rescued dogs here with us at Brandy Keg Kennels Dog Rescue, searching for their Forever Homes. Many of them are having a hard time finding families of due to health or temperament issues. They have nowhere else to go.

Over the past few months, we've been struggling to overcome one obstacle after another trying to keep our rescue operation afloat, and to get the kennel ready for winter to keep everyone warm and safe. We sustained some uninsured flood damage in June-July 2013 which took out our septic system, medical quarantine room, and “puppy nursery”, and we've had on-going problems with our well since that time. 

Between the weather extremes and doggie-destructiveness, the kennel runs and doggie doors are also in need of repair. Our goal is to greatly improve living conditions for any boys and girls coming into our rescue before they find foster or forever homes. Among the projects we are undertaking:

-a new doggie door system and better insulation separating the indoor from outdoor portions of the 16 existing runs,

-building an addition (2nd floor) on the kennel to house a medical quarantine room, nursery room for mamas with pups, and a meet and greet room for potential adoptions

-repairing the raised bedding platforms for each run, building a grooming station to bathe and do basic trims for our rescued fur-kids,

-ceramic tile and a new water-proof paint-job to brighten up the kennel interior and make daily cleaning easier,

-a fenced in play-yard,

-a small patio greenhouse to grow our own cooking herbs and veggies for our fur-kids homemade treats and weekend meals.
