MOCHA NEEDS TO GET TO CHICAGO IMMEDIATELY!
post by Natalie Kaye ~PLEASE READ MOCHA’S STORY! DONATE & SHARE!~ Mocha, a 1yr old former shelter Pug/Beagle girl, was living happily ever after with her Momma in Montana, until she started to notice that her Momma was feeling very sick. She comforted her Momma when she didn’t have the energy to get through the day, and patiently waited for her to start feeling better. At the age of 24, Mocha’s Momma had been full of life, giving of herself to others, and creating a life for herself to look forward to. Mocha and her Momma were inseparable, they did everything together, and shared a very special bond with each other that could never be broken, no matter what. Mocha’s Momma didn’t start feeling better, and when she received the news that she had bone cancer, life as she knew it, changed. Her Momma flew home to Illinois to see a Cancer Specialist near her family, and was told she would need to begin chemotherapy and radiation treatment immediately, and surgery on her leg was scheduled to begin soon after. Mocha’s Momma had every intention of flying back to Montana to get Mocha, but was told by her doctors that her health would not allow her make the trip. Without the funds to pay for Mocha to make the trip herself, and with her upcoming surgery and ongoing chemo and radiation treatments, she has had to face this fight for her life without Mocha by her side, and when she shared how heartbroken it was for her to not have Mocha with her, how she would not be able to return to Montana to bring her back to Illinois, and how the cost of transporting Mocha to her was simply not an option, with a good friend and avid animal activate in Idaho, Jena Allred, Jena made a promise to her, and to Mocha, that she would find a way. Jena has taken Mocha into her home in Idaho after transport was available from Montana last week, and now the work begins to find a way for Mocha to make the last leg of her journey home to her Momma in Illinois.
This is from Mocha's owner this morning, when asked what it would mean for Mocha to be home with her in Illinois. Today she received the news that Cancer lesions have spread to her lungs, and at the young age of 24, she is fighting for her life.
“To have my dog Mocha with me during my cancer treatments means the world to me. She gives me support no one else can. She is my world, my support, my best friend...nothing in this world can love me as unconditionally as she does!”
All rescue flight transports have been contacted and due to either the cost of a Idaho to Chicago flight, or conflicts with the weather or scheduling, Mocha has not made this flight home to her Momma, and the urgency to make this happen, grows with each passing day as her Momma’s condition continues to become more serious. We are asking for help to purchase a ticket for Mocha to fly as a carry on with a paid passenger, who can make the flight early next week. The flight can’t be booked until the funds are in place to do so, and the tickets are increasing in price as the departure date grows near. If you have ANY questions about where your donation will be going, and what it will be used for, please email Jena at ~jenalivebreatherescue@outlook.com~
The fundraising campaign is set up through my PayPal, NatalieKay286@gmail.com, and all funds will be transferred to buy the plane ticket once the money is in place.
Thank You all for your generous donations and support to finally get Mocha home to her Momma.
I know we in the rescue community understand the healing power of animals, and no one deserves that unconditional love and support, more than Mocha's Momma.
THANK YOU!
