For those of you who don't know me, my name is Shaughn. I am a volunteer living in Kharkiv, a city in eastern Ukraine. 

Many nations, including the European parliament have declared Russia to be a terrorist state. This is in no small part because they have been specifically targeting vital civilian infrastructures for power, internet, water and heat. 

Winter in Ukraine is now in full swing, and as the temperatures drop and the attacks continue, many Ukrainians, along with myself, are forced to spend long hours without power, internet connection and sometimes running water.

Ukrainians are tough, they are resilient, and they have shown themselves to be a nation filled with heroes. With every missile attack, Russia kills and wounds innocent Ukrainians, destroys homes and buildings, and damages points of critical infrastructure. All of this is their plan. However, what is not in their plan, in the resolve of people here, that is built and strengthened with every rocket that lands.

But, as the infrastructure is damaged, people are forced to become more and more self-sufficient. Much of Kharkiv now runs on generators and mobile internet. 

I am directly affected by this situation, since I live in Kharkiv, and rely on power and internet to teach english and sustain myself.

So, I am raising money to buy critical equipment (generators, fuel, power banks, stable connection to the internet, shelf stable foods and rations, flashlights, lamps, heaters and stoves). With these, I can help build stable environments for the community and volunteer groups I work with.
