We help revive traditional Native sports,
culture, cuisine and the history of the Chequamegon Bay region,
the Lake Superior shoreline and a natural corridor of clean air,
water and resources across
Northern Wisconsin and Michigan's
Upper Peninsula.
During 2022, NAET, with support from Akiing 8th Fire, Honor The Earth and other regional environmental organizations held educational events like the summer dug-out carving project, Treaty Days Indigenous Market and a winter Snow Snake Festival. Our organization also participates in the Coalition, Communities United by Water, and educational outreach that holds accountable foreign corporations and our public permitting agencies -- and their permitting policies that impact and degrade our pristine water.
2023 Funding Projects Your Donation will Support:
#1. Madeline Island "Land
Back" and Indigenous Interpretative Center. (Farmlands, Forest
and Cultural Center)
#2. Madeline Island - Dugout Canoe -
2nd year Learning Project: Repairs and Upkeep - (Early July)
#3. Communities United by Water general support for
potlucks and educational meetings.
#4. Come Listen to the Water - Sept. 4th, 2023
Annual Mackinaw Labor Day Bridge Walk (travel/lodging support)
