Lydia Kunzler hasn't added a story.
I've resisted this as long as possible, but I desperately need help.
After coming to the hard decision to give up my SDiT, when it came
down to actually signing her papers over, I just couldn't bring myself
to do it. I really need her help, and have invested so much into her
training already, I really hate to give up on her now strictly over
finances. I've spent thousands of dollars on her boarding and
training needs already, and she really has made quite a bit of progress.
But I need help!!!! I was diagnosed with NASH about 6 weeks
ago, a chronic liver condition I will have to manage for the rest of
my life. I'm still struggling with the recovery of a badly broken leg
that's been very slow healing despite multiple surgeries now, as well
as neurological problems, PTSD, seizures, and other health problems.
I really need this dog! She's come so far, but financially, I've
reached my limits. I've spent alot of money on therapies and doctors
my insurance didn't want to cover trying to get help and answers that
have eluded me, in addition to the co-pays for doctors, hospital
stays, and medications my insurance has covered part or most of. I'm
also having to pay for someone to come help me with basic needs like
getting in the shower, I'm not strong enough to do this on my own
safely, and without a service dog to assist me, it's dramatically
impacted my independence and quality of life.
The trainer that's been working with Indus has been giving me a
very fair deal at $500 a month for both boarding and training with
her. But that $500 a month adds up. I live off of disability, and
only get about $750 a month. $500 of that goes directly into my house
payment and utilities. $250 a month doesn't even come close to
covering Indus' expenses, let alone all my medical, food, and other
expenses. I NEED HELP!
I've given up most of my personal dogs, I've given up so many
freedoms, I'm trying my hardest just to get by day to day, and I'm
falling further and further behind financially. My new illnesses I'm
desperately trying to get an understanding of, and working on finding
ways to get the health and strength I need returning to me have also
left me unable to do the side projects I use to in order to earn extra
money. Severe carpal tunnel we can't address at this time due to the
severity of my liver issues has left me unable to do the crafting
projects I use to do, and I don't have the strength or stamina to
groom dogs for those around my neighborhood as I use to. Many days
just getting out of bed is a struggle.
Leaving Indus in the board and train program until she's ready
to start assisting me is the best option for her and me, as I've been
in and out of the hospital alot lately, and I don't have the strength
to devote to her training and exercise needs at this time. We're
hoping that'll be changing in the near future as I continue to work
with doctors and specialists, but in the mean time, my only hope of
keeping Indus in training is to find the help and support I need from
my friends and family.
Indus just turned a year old in January, she won't be able to
start her mobility portion of her training until she's 24 months old,
so she has a solid 8 months or more of training left at this point.
At $500 a month, I'm looking to raise about $4,000 to cover her
expenses for the next 8 months, as well as about $500 for the
specialized harness and equipment she'll wear to best assist me. The
gear I've used on previous service dogs won't fit her when she's fully
grown, as she's much larger and heavier bodied then my previous
service dogs have been.
Please help me keep my girl, I was so close to letting her go
over finances, but emotionally and physically, I NEED this dog, I need
this to work out, her trainer feels she's made great progress and has
alot of potential for my needs, I've lost so much in the last 8 months
since the passing of my previous service dog, please, help keep me
from having to loose Indus to!!!!!
Donations made through this Fundrazr page I do loose about 10%
of the donations to fees. To avoid the fees, donations can be made
directly through PayPal to PayPal.me/PoodleMomma, or through Venmo
@Poodlemomma I will add those donations to this page to keep the goal
accurate. Or you can email me at poodle.momma@att.net or contact me through
Facebook and I'll give you my mailing address if you'd rather pay by
check. Or if you'd rather, I can contact the trainer and see if she'd
be willing to take donations directly if your more comfortable helping
that way.
