Diesel is a 9 year old mixed breed canine. Part lab, part setter. He is our 50 pound lap dog, one of the biggest sooks you'll ever find! Diesel has developed allergies to most food, as a result he constantly chews and licks his paws to the point of breaking the skin. He develops frequent ear infections and has numerous hot spots on his body. His reactions can be compared to that of having itchy skin all over your entire body. Some days he doesn't know what to do with himself. We have tried prednisone, a steroid that works and is affordable but unfortunately, long term use can cause kidney damage. Diesels situation requires him to be put on a strict raw diet, as well as start taking a medication called atopica. Both of which are extremely expensive. For a dog Diesels weight, meds alone would cost 200 per month. Luckily, we have been told that after the initial treatment the dosage can be cut back so it will not be as expensive. We simply cannot afford to do this on our own at this point in time. We are asking any animal lovers to kindly make a donation towards Diesels vet bills for the first couple months.
