Dawn Wilmoth-Midgley hasn't added a story.
We got Zsa-Zsa last year. She was between 13-16 years old. We knew that she was too old to be spayed safely, and Dr. Wilbers agreed. So, of course, we understood that eventually we would probably loose her from uterine tumors. But we didn't think they would develop this quickly. I felt a lump so she saw Dr. Wilbers August 15th. He confirmed 3 lumps and that she has as little as 6 months, but probably no more than 2 years.
Our original intention was to eventually bring Zsa-Zsa's herd here, when we could afford too. (We brought Zsa-Zsa here after her female mate passed away and she went into a depression.) They all deserve to be in a warm, dry house like Zsa-Zsa. They too deserve a safe, grassy area they can get exercise and have fun in. They deserve fresh, clean water all the time. They deserve a better life! And unfortunately they won't survive another winter where they are.
When Mac got so very sick last year everything else needed to be put on hold. We still owe over $6,700.00 for Mac, but we do want Zsa-Zsa to be reunited with her herd. And we want them to be safe! However we no longer have the ability to do so financially.
We would need to come up with the funds to build another outside pig house, and vet visits including neuterings. Unfortunately we live on a very dangerous road and the fencing is the most expensive because all must be concreted 3 feet down underground to provide safety. And permits and fee's to keep everything to code are not cheap. In addition, we also will need to upgrade our electrical unit to cover the additional housing needs.
Zsa-Zsa lived on a farm with Winkie for 13 years, and Sammy was with them for 12 years. Clancy was only with them for about 5 years, but is a part of their herd too. Winkie still looks for Zsa-Zsa. He even moved into her shelter area once she was gone. We don't want to loose Zsa-Zsa before they can all be reunited.
Any donations are SO VERY, VERY much appreciated!!!
