Hello everybody! Muizz and I met two years ago in London. Since then we have been travelling together many times and created a great relationship based on trust and honesty. Today, we are asking for your help.

In 2013, after my studies in Belgium, I decided to move away from Belgium to get fresh air from the Himalayas, in Nepal. I worked in a local school in a small village named Palung and shared the life of the Hamal Takuri's family during three months. I had time to appreciate the culture, the language, the environment and ended considering this place as my second home.

I worked as a volunteer in Sarswati school assisting the local English teacher, Bijay. The experience was pretty amazing, I loved teaching and had a great contact with all the students. I also came across several issues that the Nepalese have in their daily lives. Indeed, the living conditions are harsh sometimes.

The recent earthquake hit a country already suffering from poverty. Palung has been devastated, 90% of the houses have been completely damaged obliging the inhabitants to live where they can, in the local school for example.

Muizz and I had already planned to visit my family before the earthquake occurred. Our plans changed a bit when we heard the bad news, so we commonly decided to create this fundraising page in order to help them to rebuild the house. In one week of staying in Palung, Muizz has already been adopted by everyone in the village. Abu (the four-year old boy living with us) calls him Muizz mama (uncle) :).

Fortunately, no one in the village has been injured. People have access to food, water etc. Now they crucially need a decent place to stay in and we hope that with the money we'll get from the donators, we'll be able to help our family to recover from the disaster.

Even though the houses have been destroyed, the atmosphere in Palung remains positive. Indeed, everyone is helping each other, providing food, water, assistance etc. The solidarity there is incredible and we would like to take part in this positive post-earthquake movement.
