The local pound and after hour volunteers have been working hard recently taking in animals that need our help.

Today gave me the idea of doing this fundraiser as we helped one of the local fur babies stay safe from the storm until help could be provided.

We had this guy staying at our house a couple of weeks ago while we desperately tried to find his family (due to renting we are not allowed animals in the home- however we make exceptions for these guys- as it is temporary)  in the end the ranger came and took him in the hopes to find his owner. Today he was out again running around- he obviously has a home and due to the storm has gotten out once again.. The Rangers were called and were already attending to approximately 11 other cases, where unfortunately some dogs were injured and needed emergency treatment. They asked if we could please keep him overnight again and take him to them in the morning, as the storms have created a lot of havoc.. We are happy to keep him until they are able to assist us- however not everyone is willing. I am going to start a fundraiser where donations can be made, in order to raise money for the local pound and the after hours volunteers. This is a way of getting a few more people out and about to help and who might be able to temporarily have a dog stay with them overnight until opening hours at the pound, in order to keep them safe. The money will go to supplying those families with dog food and necessary items needed for temporary stays. Anyone who is willing to get behind this, let me know and see what a difference we can make.

I'm going to do a weekly "buy and supply" for families willing to help, which would mean each week bulk food is purchased and I would personally distribute it to families housing the dogs overnight, while Rangers deal with the more difficult cases. For the people unable to take the dogs to the pound in opening hours I would work it around my job in order to personally take the dogs there.
