I'm a vegan lifter, and excited to be able to support a non
profit like The Raven Corps, youth activists who care about the future
of us, animals, and the natural world.
Hi! I'm Katie Lee G, and I'm so excited that Odd Barbell is hosting Odd Ones In, a full-power, inclusive powerlifting meet, to be held on March 18th, 2023!
Myself and many members of Odd have a common need for a space that is
affirming, inclusive, and empowering, that allows us to be ourselves,
and get stronger. We've found sense of belonging at Odd Barbell, and
are extending our gym home to the greater community, who we wish to
get stronger with, together.
It's important for us to uplift and support others who share
similar values and we've found that with The Raven Corps!
The Raven Corps is a youth-centered, intergenerationally-led
community and total liberation movement for activists between the ages
of 15 and 22, "Ravens". Ravens fight oppression by taking a
multidimensional approach to issues that impact human and nonhuman
animals as well as our natural world.
Right now, The Raven Corps is leading a campaign, Operation:
Mind Over Milk, to confront the dietary racism, animal cruelty, and
environmental destruction perpetrated by the industrial dairy
industry. The Ravens aim to increase access to plant-based milk in US
schools who rely upon the National School Lunch Program through
student movement-building and by putting pressure on the USDA.
