Charlaine Samson hasn't added a story.
Hello there! For those that don’t know me I am Charlaine Samson formerly from Newfoundland and the Yukon. But been a BC girl for 30 plus years.
While working as a paramedic in the Vancouver British Columbia, I receive a shoulder and neck injury at work, this shortly led to the diagnosis of secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. Now I know I’m no Selma Blair, otherwise I wouldn’t be putting this out there. I’m At the point in my life and disease, Because I’m progressive, I am losing my muscle mass and the ability to walk and be a strong in a very short period of time. I’ll go from Cane to electric wheelchair depending on my day. I want to be that person that is approachable ,which I am, positive and encouraging for all those that approach me whether I’m on my wheelchair,my scooter, Rollator or hoping to get on this new bike
I find it even at the grocery store on a scooter people butt in front of me or half the time I’m not even seen by the deli or the cashiers. I need to build my strength back up so that I can stay strong and be a voice for those that don’t have one or are to timid To be proactive for themselves. I’m tired of Pharmacare winning I want to win, I want to I want to own MS and not be owned. I want people to stop me on the street and say hey! Where did you get that cool thing would it work for me? I am not one to stare down at my shoes. I am proud and confident and all those that have met me and know me know that and I will give you the shirt off my back even if it doesn’t fit. In the long run I would love the stem cell transplant. But US$75,000 is a big chunk of change which I do not have and will never have while being on disability. Life is not fair it’s the same treatment for cancer patients can get for free. And that’s not guaranteed for them either, and that’s for Pharmacare’s excuse. Keep them in a wheelchair keep them progressing, for he more meds we get them on the more money we make. I’m here to stop that please support me. So I can get off my backside and start paddling around in the upright face-to-face position I deserve to be in. We all deserve to be in.
