The Backpack Project is a small group of volunteers who request and collect donations of toiletries and other necessities from individuals and businesses, which are used to fill backpacks for local homeless and individuals in need.

The Christmas Backpack Project was started in 2008 by Niki Ottosen and her family - and she continues to lead this important annual effort year-after-year.  The Rotary Club of Downtown Victoria is proud to be supporting her, and this important activity for people in need this holiday season in Victoria, BC.

With your generous support here and donations from local businesses and schools in Victoria and its surrounding municipalities, hundreds backpacks have been filled and distributed to the men and women who call the streets their home.

The Backpack Project is a small group of volunteers who request and collect donations and pull the project together just in time for those most in need, and distribute the backpacks - making sure all donations go where they are most needed.
