Mihwa Thick hasn't added a story.
Paxton Jessop is 12 years-old diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer (Epitheloid Sarcoma). It often occurs in the extremities, and is more commonly found in young adults. In Paxton's case it is very rare because it was discovered when he was 8 years-old and formed in his upper thigh next to his groin. Usually removal procedures would be done but in his case amputation is not possible.
His grandparents are Ray and Mary Jane, parents are Victor and Tracy,
and he has a younger brother Po'o Kela and baby sister named Clarity.
Within the last 4 years, he had 3 surgeries and radiation treatments
with the best doctors they could afford until they said there is
nothing more that traditional medicine can do. He is still in active
care with 3 health care professionals taking special medications in
addition to holistic modalities, hoping it can stop his tumor from
growing.
Paxton recently turned 12 years-old. They couldn't
invite too many people because his energy level is very low. When we
walked in, the living room was beautifully decorated, balloons and
streamers everywhere. We saw Paxton acting out a skit pretending to
drive a van with his grandparents and nurses, swerving side to side,
to a place called Mudgegonga. His parents were laughing seeing Grandpa
Ray's acting skills and Paxton driving pretty well for a 12 year-old.
You couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the amount of love in the
room. Looking at him, his smile would never let you know that he is in
pain constantly and has cancer. His strength is amazing and he always
talks about the future and can't wait to see his baby python grow to
be 5 feet long; he loves animals! He loves to battle with his Pokemon
cards and hopes his most valuable card will be a million bucks one
day. He's a normal kid. And the hope he will live to become an adult,
grow his beautiful heart, marry, have a family, and share his love
with the world remains in his parents and grandparents eyes. Paxton is
someone you can trust that will be smiling the next day.
We
want to raise money for the Jessop family so they can continuously
seek spiritual healing methods and to keep hope alive for Paxton. We
know they would be overwhelmingly grateful for any support for their
family. Thank you so much and God bless!
