Amber McCafferty hasn't added a story.
1/24: We aren't even into the month of January, and we already have quite a big vet bill --- ugh!!!
Gracie and Anastasia are currently battling parvo :( Gracie was boarding at the vet, and little Anastasia has gone to the vet every day this week from the shelter for injections to help her, but they sting the entire time. Poor girls!!! We don't have an exact price for their treatment, but its safe to say their bill is at least $350. (Side note: Anastasia is the sweetest little girl and is just desperate for someone to foster her, especially during her recovery. If you would like to foster, email trinitygapclub@gmail.com!)
Nicholas has the biggest bill of all (so far) at $500! This super, loving boy came in as a limping stray, and after some tests, Dr. Riley diagnosed him with bone cancer :( Nicholas had to have his leg amputated earlier this week, and he is currently recovering with our Foster Queen thankfully. He has a big road to recovery, but we know he will get there. Of all the dogs I have seen in the past months, he is by far the most neglected and truly deserves to know the meaning of love.
Finally, we have George the Great who is getting over an eye infection and upper respiratory infection! He was boarded at the vet for a week, and has just gone into foster care. His bill is around $120.
Please pray for all of our wonderful pets!! Any and all donations are beyond appreciated!!!
Overview:
GAP thanks EVERYONE who has donated to the cause, but sadly more donations are needed for several heartworm positive dogs as well as surgeries for many dogs and cats with respiratory illnesses, and boarding expenses and various ailments and on and on it goes! GAP has created one giant chip-in to solicit donations to help cover these unmet vet costs which have been extraordinary! Giving just a little helps a lot, so won't you please help?
The Trinity GAP Club (Girls Awareness Program) is an all-girl's club that functions through Trinity High School in Euless, TX. The mission of Trinity GAP Club is to give these high school girls a positive outlet for their time and to show them positive alternatives for their lives. One of their community service projects is volunteering with the Euless Animal Shelter and sponsoring as many animals as their funds allow to provide spay/neuter, shots, and other vetting costs for the pets. Adoption fees collected from sponsored pets recycle back into their program so they can continue to vet as many pets as possible. There are always unforeseen medical expenses so they do fund-raisers such as bake sales, t-shirt sales, tamale sales, etc. PLUS they have an annual "Pet Shower" and collect donations for OTHER rescues and shelters and in their spare time they host 2 Pet Fairs annually to raise funds and promote adoptions for these homeless animals. They have made a huge difference in lowering the euthanization rate of this shelter, and it is a fact that many dogs and cats would not be alive today if not for their efforts. They have won many local and state awards! GAP's website : http://trinitygaprescue.org/
