Noah Mitchell Warden was born December 23, 2008, weighing 9lbs and 1oz by emergency c-section at 8:51am. Noah did not breathe or have a heartbeat for the first 13 minutes of his life. He was taken to Children's Hospital in order to have a procedure done known as brain cooling in attempts to minimize damage caused by perinatal asphyxia. Noah's brain cooled for 72 hours after which time the hospital ran an MRI and an EEG to determine the extent of the damage. Unfortunately, the results came back with devastating news. Noah had suffered "global damage" to his brain. As a result the prognosis was grim. They said Noah would mostly likely never walk, talk, eat or even breathe on his own. Today, Noah has the diagnosis of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) resulting in spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy with athetoid movements, with severe SPD and a history of seizures. He is unable to sit, walk, talk, crawl or self-feed but is cognitively very aware and communicates using an AAC eye gaze device. Noah's miracle has brought our story to all of you.

It's been an uphill battle for several years now when it comes to obtaining medically necessary and theraputic adaptive equipment and items for Noah.  Noah is on a state Waiver and EPSDT Medicaid however, both are continually entering denials on Noah's behalf as direct retaliation and retribution for his mother being an outspoken parent advocate in the community included but not limited to exposing CCB (Community Centered Board) funding abuse and fraud.  As such, all of Noah's requests are being continually denied.  Each denial undergoes the appellate process and all denials have been reversed before an Administrative Law Judge, however the State files something called an Exception to Initial Decision which voids any appellate Judge's ruling rendering the appellate process moot.  (I know it's truly insane they have the legal right to void a Judge's ruling).  But until there is legislation preventing them from doing so they will continue doing this to countless families including ours. 

Even though there is funding that Noah should be able to access for this help, he can't.  He's gone nearly three years with minimal funding assistance.  The out of pocket costs are exorbitant and overwhelming and Noah is continuing to do with out things he needs for his daily living needs and quality of life.  The State is roadblocking nearly all requests large and small intentionally.

While, we have pursued two District Court lawsuit cases against both Noah's CCB and State Medicaid, it takes a large amount of time - sometimes years from start to finish when it comes to legal cases while Noah continues to do without.  He needs help now. 

We are humbly asking you for your help.  We're genuinely at a point where we can no longer do this without some significant help or heroes to enter Noah's life.
