Sarah Florentino hasn't added a story.
Hi My name is Sarah, I was born and raised in Canada.
I am fundraising for my 2 cousins who are siblings and one of their partners, who live in Philippines.
The older sister Agnes , and the younger brother with severe autism Arvin currently live in a house without a proper roof and door, to keep them safe from the rain or from greedy people who steal their belongings.
Their parents are no longer present in their lives and have been through severe abuse(both physical and sexual.)
My cousin Agnes is a young adult and stuck in a sad situation. As the only care giver for her younger disabled brother, she is forced to settle and work everyday at a low minimum wage job (12 hours everyday and including night shifts) that hardly covers their expenses and bills, stuck with other abusive family members (other cousins aunts and uncles ) who steal from their home. I also can't send them items that they might need in fear that others will steal from them. As ridiculous as I find it, I just don't have enough money to send to them considering I am the same age as Agnes and am currently a broke college student.
She is forced to leave her autistic brother alone in their home for many hours , even taking care of a couple stray dogs so he wouldn't be alone.
They can barely afford enough food to eat but are lucky enough to have some kind neighbours who feed their dogs.
Agnes and her partner once had a thriving self owned catering
business, before it got burnt down from natural disaster. They're both
currently in deep debt , as they had no choice but to barrow from the
bank since they lost everything .
They can only afford to pay off
the interest and I don't think they'll ever escape the situation..
Agnes partner has mentioned they wanted to apply and work abroad in order to pay off their debt and save enough to finally renovate their home, but need money in order to go to school, as it's their only requirement in order to be approved to apply.
Truth is I wish I could sponsor them in order to come here to Canada but it's just not possible. The only way is if one of them works abroad and applies for cross country after their work contract is over.
I truly feel like my cousins deserve a better life and I especially do not want to leave my autistic cousin in that situation, he deserves plenty of food, shelter and a safe home with his older sister.
They live in a third world country where there is not much justice. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, and you would be helping them much more than I ever could.
The funds would go to support my cousins partner to work abroad , while renovating their home, prevent others from stealing, and supporting Agnes for Arvin's as well as the dogs needs. Potentially also starting a business for them as additional income. It will change their lives forever. I also will be able to send them basic items and canned goods with no worries once they finally have a door with a lock in it, as well as no more floods from not having a roof when it rains.
