Star Apple Foundation supply dinner to malnourished children each day. We also monitor the children for weight/height etc. We have had 4 weighing scales over the past 3 years. All have either broken, or become inaccurate. Detecto scales are tested with weights traceable to the U.S. Bureau of Standards.
With small children we need accurate reading. Most hospitals and health centres have this Detecto 339 scales for measuring bow weight and height in 100gram and 1cm increments. We do not wish to use our funds allocated to our 3 feeding sites for this purpose.
If there are any funds above the €300, they will go towards the many small projects/help we do for the poor on a weekly basis. For instance we are helping a very poor mother to get a birth certificate. The child was born a long distance away in their home. Her partner cannot afford to get an ID P500. an affidavit P300, processing of papers P750, postage to Mindanao P250. Her child is malnourished, and we feed her dinner 5 days a week.
