Thousands of years of Taoist, Hindu and Hermetic traditions point to the importance of the energy body in spiritual and healing practice. It plays a role in sacred medicine cermonies too.

Of course this isnt really news, and many Shamans use energy techniques even though its not widely discussed or understood by many Westerners seeking healing. 

But when things go wrong, could it be the missing link between sanity and ...disconnection?

What role does the energy body play in the percieved magic healing abilities of the many Amazonian plants?  Our 1 hour long documentary will explore this and more. 

I am Scott Turner, a film and television professional (visual effects), teacher and author. I have lived in South America for 12 years, am bilingual and started working with ayahuasca and chiric sanango 5 years ago and after 2 years of bimonthly ceremonies and kundalini events I was plunged into a dark night of the soul of epic proportions which no one seemed to be able to help me with. Eventually with help from one or 2 knowledgeable shamans and some serious personal courage I found a way to work with energy, a few meaningful dieta plants and kambo and was able to pull myself back to the light.  I documented some of my journey on my youtube channel ayahuascamagic and in my book -Ayahuasca Magic: the Spell of the Unconscious, available on Amazon.

This film is important because I see people everyday going through similar journeys and there's almost no media discussing these issues and so much really bad advice. In a wider context I believe energy work is the key to integrating humanity with reality with or without ayahuasca.

When you contribute to his project you will help people to find the path back from fear and loathing to the venerable 'love and light' and have direct impact on people who are really suffering.

What we need

We need $18,000 for this project which will take 4-5 months, including 1 month in Peru doing interviews with shamans and facilitators in various locations as well as interviews with non medicine-based energy workers.  4 people working on the project - camera, on camera, sound and lighting.  Editing and post. Script in process. We have all the camera  and sound gear.  All 3 in out team have been working in television or film for our career - 10 to 20 years each - and have experience in production and writing and editing at professional level. We've also all been touched by aya and other medicines over many many years .

The funding will be used for expenses like equipment insurance and production expenses

The Impact

While widely undocumented, plenty of people suffer trauma from poor integration or  misuse of sacred medicines like ayahuasca, chiric sanango and others

Understanding how the energy body works in context of the ayahuasca ecosystem including plant dietas and other energy healing techniques can help many people heal from these traumas

Could powerful energy techniques represent and alternative to ceremonial treatment?
