Autographed Conversations CD by Bryan Duncan
Dating all the way back to his time with the pioneering Sweet Comfort Band, Bryan Duncan has possessed one of the best blue-eyed soul vocal foundations in all of Christian music. Well over 30 years later, he’s still going strong throughout Conversations, and although it’s not on a major record label, the production quality and ultratight instrumentation has no trouble fitting right alongside past album classics like Mercy and Blue Skies. Aside from sounding absolutely spectacular, Duncan’s songwriting direction is still grounded in encouraging faith affirmations and praises, particularly on the harmony-laden “I See You” and the chilled out contemporary jazz leanings of “Second Chances.” He even gives a shout out of appreciation to long time fans throughout “Sweet Friend Of Mine,” who are certain to not only taking a liking to that tune, but this entire dialogue of Gospel-derived messages sung ever so smoothly in his unmistakable style. — Andy Argyrakis
