Christine Sasso hasn't added a story.
Two nights ago there was an incident that has prompted us to reach out for your help! Road patrol officers received a call for service where a family kitten had been intentionally shot by a full sized arrow in our city. When the owner transported "Apples" (9 month old female tabby) to her vet the arrow was still lodged in her body. The arrow didn't pierce any major organs but Apples needed surgery in order to survive and the owner is unable to afford it. Dr. Higgins has picked up the tab on behalf of Pooches in Pines to save Apples's life while the police department actively investigates this horrible crime against a well loved family pet.
We are reaching out to the public for donations to assist us with our current vet bill. We have exhausted our Pooches account and put our own money towards bills and much needed supplies because we hate to see an animal suffer...we would love to save them all. Since we are not a 501c3 organization, unfortunately your contributions are not tax deductible, but EVERY $1 HELPS.
Donations will assist us with the following animals (amongst others) who have outstanding bills:
Apples's surgery - kitten shot with an arrow.
Lady's extensive heartworm testing and treatment - German Shepherd mix who was dumped at Perry Airport and had to initially be hand fed.
The last of Bubba's vet bill - we had this poor guy for upwards of 8 months and have widdled his bill down to about $300.
Hoshi - friendly female Akita who was unable to walk on her raw paws which were damaged from walking on hot pavment for a long period of time.
Frank's vaccinations, neuter and testing to prepare him for the rescue group - the little wire haired terrier.
Thank you for your continued support...and thank you again to Dr. Higgins because without her assistance with Apple's vet, she likely would have died.
