My best friend in Ukraine, Aleksandra (Sasha) Evtushenko, is diagnosed with stomach cancer! One of the worst kind of it and the treatment is very expencive and complicated! I am reaching out to people for help! As I am not able to help her much myself, but little by little we can save her life!

I'm already extremely greatful for all the help Sasha has got from people. She was able to go through her first stages of chemotherapy, all the required tests and hospital visits, including blood transfusions, and finally surgery. Which went well, according to doctors, and now she only needs about 3 more chemotherapies. 

On November the 3rd ( Sasha's 28th BIrthday), after waiting for so long and doing so many different tests, Sasha underwent a surgery. The surgery, as we were told, was successful!

But, by successful they meant - they cut out her whole stomach, caul and all the attached lymph nodes (I hope I translated all of those into English correctly) She has been in the hospital for a few weeks after, including spending her first week in ER .

She is on a very strict diet right now. She can't eat anything greedy or creamy or sweet or spy... well, only pureed food and well boiled meat and soups.

Though she is very happy to be home now to get some rest from the surgery.

Nevertheless she has to continue her treatments to reassure that the disease is gone for good. She has 3 more chemotherapy scheduled for the next few month. We all hope that it's truly working and that these are the last little steps she needs to take for her recovery.

Sasha is extremely grateful to all of you who helped her through those horrible times. She is not in any debt after the surgery, and it is all THANK TO YOU ALL that she could afford the treatment in the first place.

She is now borrowing money from her coworkers and friends to be able to pay for the last bits of treatment.

This is my third fundraiser for her, that I opened in hopes that we can all help her through her last steps of the fight!  and help her pay for the last 3 planned chemotherapies.

I can't express how sad, scared and devistated I am to know that my best friend Sasha (Aleksandra Evtushenko) is diagnosed with cancer. It kills me inside and doesn't leave my head. Personally I am getting by on a bare minimum myself with help of my parent's and I can not give her much to help her, so I'm running this fundraiser to seek help from people.

This past month of July I was first struck with a horrible news from my long lasting childhood friend, Sasha, that she was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I know her for many years. She is the girl I grew up with, went through many levels of school with, traveled with, she is like a sister to me. I am very concerned for her becaus of her illness. She is so young and all of her life is still infront of her.

I am very concerned because knowing the situation in Ukraine right now, and how corrupted our country is, and how hard to live there, I know for a fact that she can not afford the treatment and no one but us, her friends and her family can help her. There are no insurance in Ukraine, and goverment does not help paitients in any way. Please help me make treatment a possibily for Sasha.

She tells me that her every treatment cost $750, which is an unbelievably high amount for Ukraine. She needs at least 4 of those + a surgery. Also to find good doctors she needs money, for any tests and labs she needs money. Our hospitals dont provide anything, she needs to buy her own suringes, medications, gauze and bandeges.
