Recently I found out my mom has stage two breast cancer. Although everyone has been really supportive, and insurance will pay for most of the treatment, $6000 is not covered. She also needs to buy supplements to help get her T-Cell count up and to boost her immune system. (The T-Cells help to fight off the cancer cells.)

Currently she is working at a job that pays just enough to live on, but not more. Since she will need Chemo, she will be missing quite a bit of work and money will be tight.

She starts Chemo next Friday and will have to go until May. After that she will need surgery and possibly even Radiation Therapy. She will finish everything by next July and although her work will give her some paid time off, it will not be enough to sustain throughout the whole treatment.

A little bit of extra money would go a long way. My mom doesn’t know I’m doing this and I would love to surprise her with some extra money for her treatment. Any amount would help. The stress of having to deal with all the treatments is hard as it is, so if dealing with money wasn’t a problem that would be amazing.
