Last January, I found out my mom, Mary, was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. She went through the whole treatment process but the cancer seems to be very resilient and as of her last appointment a few weeks ago she still has cancer in her body.

Last February I did a fundraiser and raised over $5000. This money helped my mom a lot with covering her treatment, but more than anything, helped with day-to-day expenses. She now has gone through chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. After the surgery, she waited a few months, going to check-ups and hoping for the best, but not knowing whether she still had cancer or not.

At a recent check-up they tested to see if cancer was still in her body. They found cancer in her bones, specifically in her sacrum. It was devastating for all of us. Because the cancer spread to her lymph nodes it was able to spread to other parts of the body.

She is now uncertain what treatment route she will take as the traditional treatment didn't work. She has been out of work because of treatment and because she's been feeling very tired.

Because of expensive medical bills, not being able to work, and having two teenage boys, money is really tight for her at the moment.

She has a lot to worry about and being stressed about money isn't helping her. A little bit of extra money would go a long way and could help her pay for necessities like utilities, groceries and cancer treatments.
