Executive Summary
This project aims to rescue
at-risk youth from being recruited by criminal organizations in
Ecuador
by training them in hydroponic agriculture using NFT
(Nutrient Film Technique) systems. Starting in
Guayaquil and
Machala, we will create cultivation and training centers where young
people will learn
hydroponics, entrepreneurship, and life skills.
The goal: to
trade weapons for tools, fear for future, and despair for
hope.
The Problem
Thousands of young people in Ecuador live
without educational or job opportunities. Many are
recruited by
organized crime in exchange for quick money. Once inside, it's nearly
impossible to
leave without tragic consequences.
The
Solution
Train youth in clean, sustainable, and profitable
production systems: hydroponics. In safe spaces,
they will learn
to grow, to work as a team, and to dream of a better
life.
Objectives
- Rescue at least 60 young people in 12
months in Guayaquil and Machala.
- Install 3 hydroponic modules
in each city.
- Develop a brand for socially grown hydroponic
products.
- Train in soft skills, conflict resolution, and
values.
Action Plan
1. Select vulnerable youth in high-risk
areas.
2. Install NFT systems with LED lighting and climate
control.
3. Provide technical, emotional, and entrepreneurial
training.
4. Sell fresh produce under a social brand.
5.
Provide individual follow-up with tutors.
