I am Andrew Lee, ESL Instructor for the drug/alcohol center Unidad de Tratamiento Francisco Delgado (Colonia 89 Unit 1, and "The Ranch" in San Vicente, Baja California, Mexico). My Padrino is Juan Jose Delgado Martinez. This fund raiser seeks funds for 50 mattresses for our San Vicente facility.

In San Vicente, we have the capacity to house 70 recovering alcoholics and addicts, and we are filling up quickly.  However, many have to sleep on the ground because we have not had sufficient bed frames.  But, we've taken care of that thanks to generous donors from Mexico, the US, and Canada, and were able to buy the metal for new bed-frames.  One of our professional client-welders has put together enough of them to, combined with the existing frames, bed 70 folks.

That said, although we now have the bed-frames built out, we are still suffering in San Vicente from a combination of a lack of mattresses, and a recurring infestation of bed-bugs due to the quality of those that we do possess.

We need about 50 mattresses.  New mattresses are 500 pesos each.  The exchange rate right now is hanging around 22-1.  That comes out to 25,000 pesos, which is about $1,300USD.  We're not seeking a dime more than what we need to comfortably and properly bed our co-ed population out at The Ranch.
