My name is James Sheldon.  In 2009, I joined my first laughter yoga club, which met at the Integrative Medicine Center near my house.  I immediately fell in love with the modality, which was developed in India and uses structured laughing to engage participants.  In addition to being quite fun, Laughter Yoga has also been shown to have numerous health benefits.  

I have the opportunity next week to attend a Laughter Yoga Leader Training on Zoom. I was on leave last year from work, and consequently, finances have been tight.  The training costs $425, and there are credit card transaction fees on this platform, so I have set my fundraising goal at $450.

I will use the knowledge from this training to create laughter yoga clubs aimed at different audiences, including mathematics educators, union activists, and leatherpeople/pups/furries.  I have also been organizing a series of virtual labyrinth walks, and will incorporate laughter yoga into these events to deepen participants' experiences.  In addition, I am designing a mindfulness and mathematics curriculum, and plan to incorporate laughter yoga exercises into this curriculum.
