Hello there, my friends! My name is James, and my partner's name is Adrian. In 2023, I had a mental health crisis that lasted many months, and depleted most of my savings as well as having to default on some debt. In Dec 2024, I was let go from my job of many years, and I am running into challenges completing my PhD program as well under the circumstances.  I am currently looking for work in my field, and have had a couple of interviews already, so I am cautiously optimistic about the prospects of finding something soon. However, we do not have money for this month's rent, which is due Feb 1, and could use your support.

We are asking for help with February's rent, which is $1284, plus the 2.9% payment processing fee for Stripe, which comes to $1321. We are also seeking other sources of support, including a writer's emergency fund and local assistance programs, and will update with anything received. I also have pretty much all other payment methods, in case you want to contribute in another way.
