I served in the Peace Corps from 2017-2019 in a small farming village in the southern part of Ghana named Gboloo Kofi. I just got a call from my good friend, Aikins, who reached out to me to tell me that the current headmaster at the school is looking for some funding to install a computer lab in the school. Aikins is someone I truly trust to get things done, he currently works for an British NGO called Village by Village who does great work building schools and clinics in the area, so he is accustomed to managing projects like this.

This school caters to not only Gboloo Kofi but also the surrounding villages and they currently only have one computer for upwards of 280 attending students which is not nearly enough. The computer lab will give the students the opportunity to actually understand their information and communication technologies curriculum with enough computers, giving them the resources needed to learn these useful skills.
Right now is an important time where there is momentum from the headmaster in the school to spearhead this project. The only issue is the funding for the physical materials to make it happen. Most of the families are just making ends meet in sending their kids to school and working on the farm or other jobs to support their livelihood and don't have extra funds to fund this project.
Sharing this gift of technology with these students could give them the basic computer skills they would need to seek opportunities for higher education and better jobs. You donation can effect the lives of generations of kids as they progress through the education system.
