Steve Bray survives on a £3 Tesco meal deal for lunch and the occasional cappuccino. He chose to give up his self-employment as a coin collector to stand outside Parliament every day it sits to hold Parliamentarians to account - on behalf of all of us. He is a national and international visible reminder that the Remain movement hasn’t gone away and won’t be silenced. He asks the questions that need asking of MPs and Lords. He turns up rain, snow or shine regardless of his health.
Donations to Sodem and merchandise sales cover some of his activist costs like flags and banners and daily travel. But they don’t cover his personal costs. You may have noticed a slimmer man than he was a year ago- that’s the result of him carrying the huge banners , poles and flags across London everyday. Last year’s winter clothes are now all too big.
Whilst he continues to protest outside Parliament his personal earning capacity is non-existent and he receives no funding from any of the national organisastions. We want to do something to bolster his finances. That’s why some of his supporters (us, that’s Mark, Polly, Michelle, Brenda and Penny, Louise, Erika, Ruth and David) want to say thank you by doing something for him personally.
