THE VIDEO ABOVE IS MY VICTIM IMPACT STATEMENT THAT WAS PLAYED ON JUNE 13TH AT THE CRIMINAL SENTENCING
As a result of the assaults and abuse I experienced in my
romantic and business relationship with Dr. Nima Rahmany, I have spent my life savings
on medical, mental health, and legal costs as well as the costs of
daily living. I have also had to file bankruptcy, move in with my
family and I currently have a disability application pending.
I have not yet been able to return to work in any capacity that
would provide enough income to cover my basic expenses, medical
costs, mental health costs plus legal fees.
On June 13th, 2022 my abuser took a plea deal and pled guilty to 2 counts of assault. He was originally arrested on 5 charges. The judge sentenced him to 12 months probation with a conditional discharge which means he will have no criminal record.
There is no restitution provided to the victim by the criminal justice system despite a conviction.
My only recourse is to seek a division of the family assets as
well as spousal support in family court, and damages for my injuries
and lost wages in civil court.
Family lawyers do not take cases on contingency.
I do not qualify for the legal support resources available
because I do not have children with my abuser. Legal Aid & RISE
in BC only offer support with protection orders and child support
& custody concerns or if you are willing to represent yourself
in court.
I cannot imagine having to face my abuser in court as my own
representation and engage with him in a way that is sure to mimic
and trigger the emotional, financial and psychological abuse I experienced.
So as a result of the conclusion of the criminal proceedings and
my ability to now speak out publicly, I am asking for your support
in the form of a financial donation.
I have started an organization called the Domestic Violence
Victim’s Alliance (DVVA) which focuses on raising money to support
survivors like me with their medical, mental health and legal fees.
In the meantime, I have been asking people in my community to
donate items they no longer want or use to me to sell on facebook
marketplace, at my local farmers market and at garage sales that I
host at my home.
While I have been able to raise some money this way (when I am
well enough to do so) it is not nearly enough fast enough.
Those who know me know that I am a fiercely resourceful, driven
and independent Woman who, prior to experiencing intimate partner
terrorism, had already overcome many of life’s challenging
circumstances. I have spent years fighting for women’s rights and
human rights both in the sex work trade and as a member of the
LGBTQ+ community.
My desire is that with your help I can fight for what is
rightfully mine, regain my health, rebuild my career, and return to
my work in activism with a renewed sense of faith in humanity and a
fire like never before.
I also hope to set a precedent in the court systems and in the
media with my cases so that other victims of domestic violence who
come after me will be taken seriously, treated respectfully and be
FULLY provided the actual supports necessary to
hold their abusers accountable AND heal from the trauma AND rebuild
their life.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Amanda Kroetsch

This design is where it all started - I saw some of Hailee's
work online and asked if she could create some "Pussy
Fringe" earrings and HERE THEY ARE!!! I am in LOVE!!
These will be made to order and will take 30 days before
shipping so 4-6 weeks.
"Hello! I’m Hailee Hansen, owner and operator of
ScorpioSunGoods! I started beading back in 2020 when my mental
health took a decline. My best-friend insisted I needed a hobby. I
needed something to calm my mind. She taught me how to bead and I
picked it up so naturally. Beading and jewelry making has been my
natural antidepressant. The only thing that shuts my, forever
thinking, mind up. I stepped away from corporate America in 2020 so
once I discovered the passion for this new venture, I took off
running. I became a licensed vendor when my local airport inquired
about having my earrings sold in their gift shop. I sold two
collections that summer. Over the last two years my artwork has
brought me into contact with so many amazing people. They’ve
entrusted me to bring their visions to life through my jewelry. I’ve
now joined the work force again, full time, after two years but look
forward to still creating beautiful, jewelry for any occasions."
It is my pleasure to collaborate with Tahltan Two-Spirit artist

These
PURPLE PUSSIES
have been created for Domestic Violence Awareness
Month - October.
Little did I know that my journey healing from the impacts of
Domestic Violence would also include stepping into my bloodline and
not only embracing but falling in LOVE with the medicine and magic
available. Beading, among many other indigenous medicines, traditions
and art forms, have become some of the most potent tools in my
self-care toolbox.
By making a donation to my fundraiser you will not only be
helping me but also supporting Ohnala.
"My colonial name is Theresa McLean, and my Indigenous name
is Ohnala. I am from the Tahltan Nation, which is in Northern B.C
“Canada”. I started BeadsbyOhnala about two years ago. My grandma
taught me how to bead when I was small and I picked it up again as I
started on my reconnection/healing journey. There is a saying in the
Indigenous communities “Beading is medicine”, and I truly believe
that. I pour my heart and soul into everything I make. I am as
environmentally friendly as I can be. My beading materials are found
mostly from thrift stores ( not the hoops or posts).
Meduh for looking at my work."
