I'm Sugar, broke-ass Tran About Town and Twitter-yelling extraordinaire!

I've been a part of the sex writing community for over 8 years, and I also do chronic and mental illness activism, queer and trans activism, fat activism, and talk a lot about poverty and homelessness.

I've lived in poverty most of my life, and my Nesting Partner (NP) and I were homeless on the streets and in their car last Dec, then couch-surfing through the PNW until May.

I recently brought one of my girlfriends up to move in with us when we found out our roommate was moving out of our apartment, so my Nesting Girlfriend (NGF) is now part of my household too!

We're 3 disabled, trans (two enbies and a trans woman), and queer people who have been homeless several times between us .

if you count our most recent week of motel homelessness before we moved into our new home, we've been homeless:

5 times (NP)
3 times (NGF)
and 2 times (me).

My online community has been incredibly generous the past year, and most recently, their contributions helped us rent two rooms in a house when we had nowhere else to go.

Now that we're moved in, my partners are working on finding jobs, but don't have any yet.

NGF lost her wallet at the beginning of the month and her social security card and an expired ID were in it! It has been located, but it's in a trucker's cab and won't reach us again until Dec 25th, so that makes getting her a job right now very difficult.

I'm hoping NP can get hired quickly, but I just have no idea if they'll find something soon enough to help us pay January's rent, which is due by the 3rd.

We've been struggling to get back on our feet for half of this year, and I'm hoping that we'll struggle significantly less in the upcoming months once everyone finds work.

Until then, we need $1,100 in rent money to stay in our home! I've added an extra $10 to our amount just to account for the bulk of the transaction fees that Fundrazr and Paypal charge.

We don't have other options if we can't pay it, unless we move back into the expensive motel that also overcharged us because of their mistake, and so far no one has responded to my refund requests for the error.

We've been working so hard and I'm run ragged trying to keep us afloat as the sole source of income - I work minimum wage and part time; I'm not capable of working more hours even if my job would give them to me.

My check on Friday will be $198, and I expect my next check on the 27th to be a bit more, but even if it is, it won't cover the cost of our rent.
