Snapshots from the Kakuma camp
Nakafeero and her crew work for the benefit of lesbian women in particular and LGBTQA people in general in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. Here are some photos to give you an impression of their daily lives.
Some of the money is used to help women get access to sanitary products and teach them how to use them.
Photo of the camp and its surroundings.
The food provided in the camp is far from enough. Some of the money is sed to provide LGBTQA people and their kids additional meals.
The refugees sleep outdoors, which is dangerous for many reason. There
are flood rains. There are violent homophobic gangs. One goal is to
provide some shelter and a fence for protection.
The donations are used to help the children of the lesbian and LGBTQA women. Many of the pregnancies are the result of rape, but the kids are loved very much all the same.
