No mother ever wants to imagine her child being harmed, especially by their father. This is the exact position that Dani found herself in.
Danielle Wooldridge is a loving mother of two girls, an artist, and a beloved member of her community. She had created a beautiful life for herself in Los Angeles. Dani, a black mother, had a responsibility to not only believe her child, but to also follow through with reporting to authorities about allegations of SA in order to protect her child from her ex -ex- boyfriend (and father of her child), a white man.
Race is not an issue until it is.
Even with limitations around visitations, he was given full custody after Dani was arrested for protecting her daughter from these allegations. And the District Attorney wants to make an example of her for violating a court order to let her child be around her father due to these allegations. This man is exerting a privilege that says he can fight a mother trying to protect her child to the fullest extent of the law, while also trying to prosecute and go after her family. He can afford that. Her natural instinct to protect her daughter at all cost has literally cost her everything.
Her oldest daughter, 13, being caught in the crossfire of the legal process, is being neglected by the same system that is criminalizing Dani, who CANNOT fight for the safety of her children under her current circumstances. She has currently been in foster care since February, and her immediate family is being given no chance to take care of her.
She's facing a ludicrous sentencing with bail set at 1 million dollars, all FOR PROTECTING HER CHILD.
On April 28, 2023 Dani’s fate will be decided. Should she be prosecuted for doing EVERYTHING in her power to protect her daughter from alleged abuse? Would it have been better if she just ignored her daughter's claims? This injustice has continued throughout our legal system, where the privileged are able to violate court orders and get a slap on the wrist, but others are sentenced and put in a cell.
We are not contesting the fact that she took the law into her own hands. We are advocating that the evidence regarding the allegations has not been made admissible in her trial, resulting in harsh sentencing and stopping her from continuing to push for the truth. Should she lose permanent access to her children for fighting to protect daughter who has since been given over to the accused in the only way she knew how?

To be a voice for every mother who has tried in vain to protect her child. We are standing with every child who deserves a true advocate. We #standingwithdani because we refuse to believe our judicial system will continue to fail those who need it the most.
We #standingwithdani against power plays that can be brought or bullied by the abuser. We stand against white privilege and financial domination in a culture that says money is power.
We #standingwithdani because she deserves our voice, as no one is listening to her. Her choice to flee with her children for their safety blurs a line between legal and moral obligation, but so does our judicial system's choice to not protect some and not others.
Dani needs us. Her daughters need us. She has displayed a strength that cannot be explained. She is tired, her spirit is broken, and she is not being heard, so we will stand and speak for her. #standingwithdani
At this time, financially she is in most need of a family law attorney who will fight the case against the accused. Your contribution can and will help Dani change the current outcome. The funds raised from this campaign will be used to support Dani in her legal battle to find the truth and protect her child, which includes a bail set at 1 million dollars, high legal fees, and hiring the appropriate lawyers. These funds will be used in her inmate trust account, which will help her access necessities (ex. sanitary napkins) while in custody. These funds will also help her locate and give some provision for her children until they are reunited.
