Shawn’s Medical Equipment Fundraiser

Please help me raise money for my medical equipment, since my insurance can no longer cover my stay at my rehabilitation facility. 

• What‘s your story?
  On November 12th, 2023, I was getting out of a truck, and ended up slipping, causing my femur, hip, and shoulder to break. 911 was called, resulting in a 2 hour drive in an ambulance to a hospital in Nashville. I stayed there for 9 days and had 2 surgeries that inserted multiple plates, rods, and screws to fix my injuries. Once released, I took an uncomfortable 8 hour car ride back to Louisiana, where I was placed in a live-in rehabilitation facility. I have stayed here for 2 weeks, receiving physical and occupational therapy, 3-4 hours a day. The therapies are aimed to help me stand and walk again, however, I am still unable to do so. This upcoming week, my insurance will no longer be covering my stay, and I will be forced to return home without any medical care or equipment.  
  

• What medical equipment are you raising money for? 
  I’m raising money for a shower seat, a bedside toilet, a walker, a wheelchair, a recliner, a hoister machine to transfer me from the wheelchair to the recliner, ramps to get in and out of the house, and anything else that I may need as I transition from the facility to my home. 

• Why should you donate to my fundraiser?
  I need donations, because I do not have the funds or means for the medical equipment that I need upon discharge. I cannot do this on my own, so being able to receive donations from the community is a blessing that I won’t take for granted. Any donation will greatly help my cause, and all donations are appreciated.
