Desafortunadamente, el 26 de abril perdí mi lancha en un incendio causado por un cortocircuito en la embarcación del vecino. Era mi compañera desde hace 10 años, sin la cual mi trabajo como pescador y guía se ha visto muy afectado .

Providencia ya ha pasado por mucho—en 2020, el huracán Iota arrasó la isla—, pero nosotros, los isleños, seguimos adelante con trabajo duro y mucha dedicación . Todo aquel que hace un tour conmigo sabe lo que disfruto del mar y de mi trabajo. Ahora necesito tu ayuda para seguir dedicándome a lo que más me gusta por mucho tiempo y seguir escribiendo junto a mi comunidad la historia de Providencia.

Help Nick Recover His Boat And Return To The Sea!

Hi, I'm Nick Howard, a small-scale fisherman and tour guide in Providencia , a small Colombian Caribbean island I know like the back of my hand.

Since I was 14 , I've worked these waters— supplying local restaurants with fresh fish and taking tourists to explore our vibrant reefs . If you've visited Providencia, you might have tried my famous ceviche or gone diving with me in one of the Caribbean's most spectacular coral reefs.

Unfortunately, on April 26th, I lost my boat in a fire caused by an electrical short in my neighbor's vessel. She had been my companion for 10 years, and without her, my work as both a fisherman and a guide has been severely affected.

Providencia has been through so much— Hurricane Iota ravaged our island in 2020 —but we islanders keep moving forward through hard work and dedication . Anyone who's taken a tour with me knows how much I love the sea and my work. Now I need your help to continue doing what I love for a long time while helping write Providencia's next chapter alongside my community.
