Help Cecily Stay Strong While Waiting for a Kidney Transplant

Hi, I’m Cecily. I’m reaching out for support as I navigate a challenging but hopeful chapter in my life.

For 14 years, I’ve managed end-stage kidney disease with dialysis. For most of that time, I’ve been able to maintain stability. But recently I’ve had some setbacks, including hospital stays, making it harder to keep up with daily life. The good news is that I’m working with the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Transplant Program. I’m preparing for a kidney transplant that will give me a fresh start. The timing is uncertain, but I’m staying positive and focused on the road ahead.

Life took an unexpected turn 18 months ago when I lost my partner suddenly. Scott was our sole provider. Since then I’ve been doing my best to get by on a small disability income and help from my family. While I’ve always found ways to adapt, right now I need a little extra help to cover essentials like rent, utilities, and the costs that come with preparing for a transplant.
