Help Us Honor Nancy Carol Sickler's Life (1953 - 2024)
To know Nancy was to love Nancy. Her sense of humor was unmatched. She was a master at "That's what she said" jokes. Her laugh will forever ring in our ears and bring us joy. She'd dance like no one was watching to any kind of music. She could crank out a cross-stitch project at an astounding speed. And she was one of the most caring, thoughtful humans around.
To our surprise, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 C1 endometrial cancer in September of 2023. Due to complications with her liver and kidneys, she was only able to do radiation. Starting in January, she began to decline. On Saturday, February 24, 2024, surrounded by her husband, Ken, son, Evan, and daughter, Stacey, Nancy left her earthly body peacefully at home.
During her cancer journey, it was clear how much she was loved by family and friends. Now that she is gone, people continue to express their gratitude for knowing her and ask how they can support the family. Nancy did not want a funeral. And the family discussed that we don't need flowers or plants sent to the house. Instead, we believe that a lovely contribution would be to purchase something to dedicate to her and her life - something in one of her favorite places. Nancy loved the Missouri Botanical Gardens. She and Ken would go twice a year, every year. They also enjoyed walking their dog Winston in Heartland Park, in Wentzville.
The set number goal for this fundraiser is just a number. If we raised $300 we would be happy with a tree. So please, if you feel like supporting the family in some way/honoring Nancy's life - consider a small donation - however this is not expected from anyone. Your love, generosity, and well wishes are deeply felt and appreciated by us all.
