My family and I are drawn by the poverty and distress of this storied mid-western town, with its colleges and beautiful waterfront(Ohio River)/downtown and beleaguered zones of broken down houses and factories.

As Christians, we see this as an opportunity to show the love of God to hurting people, by entering their community to serve them physically, mentally and spiritually.  

We currently work with several organizations in the Charleston SC area to help the homeless and are working to extend these relationships as we move 700 miles to Indiana.  (we are currently building a relationship with Evansville Christian Life Center)

As a college math instructor and homeschool family, we have a passion for education, especial if we can offer it freely and in smaller groups for more effective learning.  This will be in coordination with Dream Center Evansville. 

Our family has also spent the last several years as leaders of a small group for our church.  This is a group of 8-12 families sharing life together, studying scripture, and serving our local community.  This group has been quite successful in growing and reproducing itself, and will be left in the hands of one of its current members as we begin to implement this ministry model in our new home town. 

We are attempting to raise funds for our move/transition and 1 year of full-time work within the community.  During this time, we will continue to build partnerships for funding locally along with pursuing other, long term avenues for income and expenses.  We in no way desire anyone divert funds currently benefiting your church or community to help us on this endeavor.  This is a hurting community that deserves outside help, but abandoning our local communities we only leave them in need of outside help also.

We currently maintain a family blog documenting our life as home-schoolers, academics, and missionaries to this, new to us, town.
