Introduction
My name is Gonçalo Luz. For years, I have guided men’s retreats, led circles, and held spaces for yoga, healing, and deep inner work across Portugal, India and Thailand.
Again and again, one vision kept returning: A permanent home for this work.
This vision first took form through something deeply personal:
Together with my beloved partner, we created Sacred Grounds CNX , a café and community space in Hang Dong, Chiang Mai, born out of love, shared purpose, and a desire to bring people together in presence.
What began as a simple place for coffee and connection became the first living seed of the Sacred Shala, a space where conversations deepen, circles formed naturally, and the foundation of this larger space quickly took root.
Thanks to a previous crowdfunding campaign and local community support, we laid the foundation in December, and the walls were put in place this January.
The Sacred Shala now stands 75% built.
A weekly men’s group is already happening inside the unfinished space. Men are sitting in circle, speaking deeper than they normally speak, processing, reconnecting, finding brotherhood in a world that often isolates them.
So the final phase begins:
We will install the glass front to protect us from the elements all year round, install a wood looking pic flooring for practice, electricity, air conditioning, and air purifier.
