I am Ife Madzimoyo - daughter, sister, auntie, budding musician and traditional healer-in-training.
This past February, I left job, home, and all-else behind in order to answer my calling and enter the process of initiation known as Ukuthwasa - the deep healing and training process that births one as a Sangoma - a traditional/shamanic healer within the Southern African tradition. Through this process, I am answering the call of my ancestors - to heal myself, my family lineages, and to serve as a healer-at-large.
After nine months initiating, the time has come for me and my siblings (fellow initiates) to graduate as iZangoma (traditional healers), and I need your help to be one-in-the-number.
Graduation is a costly process - requiring many rituals, materials and medicines - much of which must be shipped from South Africa (the home of our tradition). We must also cover the cost of hosting our elders, guests and all event logistics - as is customary in our tradition.
Having put my job and life on hold in order to fully immerse myself in the healing/work of this calling, your contribution will help me to fill the gap.
