Please help bring our daddy home from an aged care home and reunite him with our family. He's too young to be in a nursing home.

Daddy (Shane Barnbrook) swallowed a chicken bone in January 2012 and got very sick (ended up with a perforated bowel, profound sepsis, and Critical Illness Polyneuropathy), which resulted with him in a wheelchair and requiring a high level of daily care. Shane discharged home at the end of August 2013. 

After being home for nearly a year, Shane returned into care in July 2014, while I had to have an operation to repair some damage from the cost of caring. In order for Shane to reunite permanently with our children, we need to once again raise some funds to help make that happen. 

We've waited for disability funding, which we hope will start in July of this year, to help with daily care at home, but there are things that we need to help ensure that this time he can stay home forever.

We are aiming to raise money to help with:

1. Equipment Modification - the wheelchair that we bought through fundraising in 2013, has a feature we didn't get at the time. It allows the chair to move up and down, allowing Shane to sit at tables easier, and to line up his wheelchair to do slide board transfers into bed and out of bed. Reducing the amount of carers required to assist each day. Funds required: $3000

2. Equipment - We have to get a standing lifter, to help Shane with standing training, easier mobility and the one we are looking at also assists with rehabilitation for walking. We were prescribed the Sara Plus in 2013, but they had run out of stock. (See picture) We purchased a wheelchair accessible van instead, but now the lifter is required. Funds required: $14.000

3. Modifications - Once again our home has to under go another change, to widen some doorways, making it easier for Shane to access, and allow services to access the shower for easier care for Shane. We also need to make changes to our Kitchen, to allow Shane more independence and make it more disability friendly. Funds required: $15,000
