Todd Thorne hasn't added a story.

May 26th of 2005 I was hurt on the job when I was electrocuted by 480volts at 60amps, due to a negilgent co-worker who was found to be high on pot. I'm now going on 50 years old and in dire finanacial striats due to the fact of the disability, but also due to a shoddy lawyer I had gotten that was supposed to be one of the best around. I listened to her intently as she told my wife and I that she never loses this type of case. Well, what she didn't tell us or other clients was that she was corrupt. She got caught with-holding escrow accounts on several other clients and dis-barred for 3 years. Having not informed her other clients, she dropped all of our case's in the middle of them and we all lost due to this fact. As time went by, my condition was worsening and the doctors couldn't figure it out what was going on within my body. It actually took them a little under 18 months to finally get a straight diagnosis of my having the chronic pain disease RSD/Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. By this point I had sunken into a wheelchair because my legs were giving out on me very quickly as the RSD had now spread throughout both legs and now going to the rest of my body. At the same time of trying to diagnosis me, my body was shutting down at time as it would send me into having seizures of unknown origin. My wife had to make a life altering decision of either leave her job in a local hospital or put me into a personal care facility until when ever the doctors could figure everything out. My wife made the decision out of love and caring to leave her job, as what any good loving wife/spouse would do in her position. Now as time passed by and I finally was recieving the medicine to help the RSD, we both thought the medicine would help me get better. well it didn't, it just made me into a drugged up person and sometimes didn't know time, date or even congnitive reasoning. All the pain killing medicine does is make the patient not feel the pain and puts them into a stooper. Now finally weened off most of the meds, and fighting to walk through alternative therapies, Yes I can walk and drive a car, but that's it. My wife is trying to get back to work full time as she has had several part time jobs but got laid off due to low work hours available. Now even had gone back to school for more medical training, the school tell's you that they will get the students gasinful employment after completion of the courses taken. My wife is my age and is having a hard time competing with 20 year old students and other circumstances trying to get a job. So our income is still very low as it is only my SSI for the moment. We respectfully wish for help in gettin our  feet back on solid ground and help with living again. Even theagencies out there that are there to supposedily help most of the time, don't help because they won't unless there is employment in the residence. But even though, activily looking for employment, they still don't want to here that, as it's not good enough unless they see it in black and white that there is employment varification and dollar amounts of how much the wages will be before they extend their help. Both my wife and I have no family left on either side that can help us, so we'fre more or less on our own now. There once was a old saying that could be heard in biblical times when a person was in desperate need of help. But I don't think it applies anymore because those old ways are long forgotten. "Is there no help for a poor widow's son"? i forget where I've heard it before, but if anyone is familiar with it can you remind me about it and how true to helping it was?  Can anyone help us to see the clear path to freedom again?

  1. What is the problem you want to solve?
Provide a description of the underlying problem or situation you want to improve with funding. Explain why this issue is important and what negative effects it currently has on people, the environment or your community.
  2. What is your solution?
Describe your plan to address the problem and highlight what makes your approach unique or effective.
  3. How will the funds be used?
Outline how the money will be allocated to specific programs, resources or services.
  4. How will contributions make a tangible difference?
Explain the benefits and positive changes resulting from your project being funded. If appropriate, also explain how the lives of beneficiaries will be impacted.
