Second Chance Rescue has a record number of animals in various vet offices right now and could really use some financial help. Here are 2 of them and their stories.

Rich is an 11 year old senior who was dumped at the Brooklyn ACC in horrible condition. He was emaciated and almost too weak to stand; volunteers had to lift him into his kennel.

Despite a lifetime of abuse and neglect, Rich is a super sweetheart who loves everyone and just wants to give kisses. We were able to find him a wonderful home in PA, but his health was so bad when he arrived, he was not eating and had to go right to the vet. He is there now and will remain there for a few days getting stabilized.

The vet is not sure how long he has left on this earth, BUT, we will do everything in our power to give him the best possible quality of life for however long he has. He will know love and kindness for the first time ever! The vet says that all of his health issues stem from a lifetime of being starved.

Danica is a 10 week old pittie puppy, daughter of Gail, who we rescued, pregnant, from the Manhattan shelter. She grew very lethargic and stopped eating, her wonderful foster mommy took her to the vet, not once, not twice, but 3 times before they finally decided to keep her there and try to figure out why she was not responding to treatment. As it turns out, she has a stubborn case of pneumonia and remains at the vet fighting for her precious little life.

Please pray she starts to respond and gets betting so that she can go back home and get her own wonderful forever home!

Aside from these 2, we also have emaciated Melvin from Brooklyn at the vet, mange puppy, Sandy & Rocky from MACC who had possible cancer to name a few.
