I am fundraising for a third edition of 40 Ways to
Fight Fascists: Legal Tactics for Grassroots Activists,
which has just been published by Microcosm and is shipping now (they
will be in stores next week). The press is printing it at cost, and
all monies given to this fundraiser will be used to purchase bulk
copies to give away for free.
I raised money in the fall to help produce this and buy
copies, and so far I have about 2,000 copies pre-ordered to go out
to various distributors. But that doesn't even cover all the
existing requests, and another $1,000 would be great to fulfill them
and have a few more on hand for the future. Feel free to
contact me if you would like to be put on this list for free
bulk copies—or if you'd rather donate by PayPal or Venmo. And you'd
like to help out by buying your own copies to distribute, I can get
them at special bulk rates, so please go through me.
Since its first edition in 2018, 40 Ways to
Fight Fascists has become the most popular organizing
guide of its kind. It offers forty ways that everyday people can
organize against fascists and the Far Right in their own
communities, including options for people of all identities and abilities.
The original version was released on the anniversary of the
Charlottesville car attack, and a second edition was made in 2020 in
conjunction with Portland's PopMob. Since then, it has been
translated into Spanish and
German, and
CAHN (Canadian Anti-Hate Network) made one for
their country. Well over 100,000 people have read the guide on
my website alone.
I am not getting paid by the press, and Microcosm is charging
cost (to cover their printing, etc.). This edition of the guide is
done in offset printing and has a color cover. And last, I will put
the content online a bit after it comes out.
Every bit you can give will help spread the good word of how
to organize against fascism!
