i was just a teenager when my parents took me overseas to their home country and forced me into marrying my cousin. I was young and a victim.  

Years have passed, and I finally found the courage to escape. I’m now divorced after years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of my forced marriage partner, and I have a beautiful young daughter who deserves a future filled with freedom, safety, and opportunity, not the cycle I was born into.

Right now, we’re still in my parents home country. I have enough to fund our flights back. But once we arrive, I have nothing. No home. No clothes. No friends or family and no essentials for me or my daughter. I’m not asking for much ... just the basics to get us through this next chapter.

Where will the money go?

•First month of safe housing: $3,000

•Clothes & essentials for me and my daughter: $1,500

•Bedding, school supplies, toiletries: $1,000

•Groceries, transport, phone plan: $1,000

•Legal/admin/university restart support: $2,000

•Emergency buffer: $1,500

I’m not asking for luxury, just the basics to survive and slowly rebuild back what was lost in the hands of generational abuse.

I am under the support and legal assistance of professionals and NGOS working to fight forced marriage. Their support has been very helpful, but the next step is up to me and I need your help to make it happen

I wish I could say I’m safe now, but I’m not. After the divorce, I had no choice but to go back to my abusive family (currently they're here hindering me from returning home) the same people who forced me into that marriage. I'm still under their control, living in the same house, walking on eggshells every day. There’s no freedom here.

Escaping a country with restrictions on single mothers and minors isn’t just hard  it’s a battle. Every move I make has to be quiet, careful, and calculated. I’m doing everything I can to protect my daughter and get us to safety. But I can’t do it alone.
