This is Houston. I met him on Feb 6th. He lives in a ditch along side a very busy highway in South Dallas. According to the locals he used to live in a cemetery and has been on his own since at least Jan 7th. He has an opportunity to go to a rescue but I need to raise vetting, feeding, and temporary boarding funds.

My heart aches for Houston who has been homeless and  wandering the streets, alone and scared, for far too long. I've networked him from 2-6 hours each and every day since I first spotted him, but with shelters overfull and killing for space, and rescues and fosters beyond maxed out, there seems to be no hope for this sweet soul.

I can't help but imagine what Houston has endured, enduring the recent freezing  weather and searching for a warm place to rest his head at night. He deserves so much better than this.

All he needs is a chance. Please consider making a donation to help Houston receive the care he needs and find his way to a rescue. Every dollar counts, and every act of kindness can make a difference. Let's give Houston a second chance and show him that he is not alone in this world.

UPDATED 3/9/23

Update: Houston is being difficult but progress is being made. He will not come within 200 feet of a trap. He avoided traps by ACO officers in 2 different cities as well as mine and that of a well known trapper. There is, however, we are in the throws of another plan that seems to showing progress. So far so good! We just wish it wasn't taking so long.

He has been caught! Duck Team 6 did the trapping, and Tina at Adopt A Happy Tail Inc Rescue is intaking him! All funds will be transfered to Happy tail and used for vetting and care.
