This is Quincy.
In 2008 he was brought into our family by mom, Bast. He was a tiny thing, with big sad eyes and a scruffy, fluffy, coat.
But with the love and support of my mom and the rest of our family he quickly grew into a happy loving dog, who often acts more like an 'above it all' cat or a picky child.
He's around 14 now. And despite it all he still acts like a young man, albeit a little more cranky and sleepy at times.
Last year he became my dog when my mom passed from Covid. It was a long and devastating battle, that has left me with PTSD, and worsened depression and anxiety.
I have tried my very very hardest to keep working, but with the aforementioned afflictions affecting my health I can no longer work. Thus, I can no longer easily give Quincy the things that he needs.
And some may wonder why I keep him. But he was my mom's dog, and my brother and I grew up with him. Not only that, but he's an elderly dog who spent his whole life with my mom. It would be wrong and unfair to give him to someone he doesn't know.
I love him dearly and wouldn't give him up for anything. He deserves to live the rest of his days with the people who knows him best.
I'm not asking for money for myself, I'm asking for help to take care of my mom's beloved dog.
