We are very late with launching the April Fundrazr - it's already well into May - so I really hope all our supporters will share this with their friends, and do everything they can to help us catch up, especially as we also have some substantial vet bills.
A phone call from an aquaintance brought Caki to an abandoned retreiver and his stray friend: they had apparently decided the aquaintance's home was their home, after he'd fed them! Named Buddy and Holly, these two are both incredibly friendly. Later that same day Caki found another retreiver, Harry.
Caki was out of town when he received a call about a street dog that had fallen into a sewer, having been chased by dog catchers. With no way of getting out of the sewer, partially blind dog Lara would certainly have drowned is she hadn't been rescued. Another phone call brought Caki to a brick works where a mum and her pups needed rescuing: the poor mum, Adina, had previously lost a front leg - torn off in the conveyor machinery - and was struggling to look after her three pups.
Kip was found outside a school - always a risky place for a stray dog: amazingly he's already made it to a foster home in the UK.
Other dogs that made it out of Bosnia include Heidi and Phoebe (to Switzerland), and Hazel (also to the UK). Tragically the pup Noah, found all alone on the road to Praca, succumbed to parvo - RIP little one.
With so many puppies, as well as injured dogs, the vet bills have been spiralling too.

FUNDRAZR FEES: If you are using PayPal then Fundrazr will only work properly with a minimum €5 donation PLUS a minimum €1 "donation" or "tip" to Fundrazr. Smaller donations, and or donations with the Fundrazr "tip" set to zero, are automatically refunded via PayPal (but you can of course still make a direct payment to Caki's PayPal - see above).
TAX: The Bosnian authorities have retrospectively imposed a 10% tax on all PayPal and other electronic payments to private individuals received from overseas. As a result we have to add a further 10% to cover this cost. Caki is working with professional advisers to find how best to minimise this extra cost, and the potentially crippling retrospective liability: PLEASE MARK YOUR DONATIONS as "GIFT".
