My Neighbors & Friends:

I am proud to announce my re-election campaign to continue the work that I began six years ago (time flies!) as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in the Navy Yard community of Washington, DC. I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support.

As many of you already know, I am the current Chair of Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 8F and former Chair of ANC 6D, formerly the District’s largest ANC, representing the residents ofNavy Yard,  Buzzard Point,  Southwest DC, and the Wharf.

I am the Single-Member District (SMD) representative of ANC 8F04. 

I am a creative entrepreneur, operating two small companies here in DC in an industry that requires unrelenting dedication and grinding in order to remain successful.  I’m a change-maker, an optimist, and an overly ambitious altruist who longs for accountability, efficiency, and progress in all aspects of the world that I imagine is possible.   

I mention this because when I stepped into the world of politics six years ago it was quite an eye-opening experience, specifically, as it pertains to work ethic and efficacy. I’ve discovered that  most persons in politics tend to be a proxy, a placeholder, as it were, drifting from agency to agency, up (and down) the chain of command, collecting extremely inflated government salaries whether they accomplish a single thing or not.  In my opinion, we’ve created a  system  that normalizes, rewards, and promotes individuals, whose jobs are to serve the residents of our nation’s capital, whether or not they actually tend to positions they find themselves in. 

I’m very proud of the  work  that I have put into this unpaid, full-time job, over the past several years and hope to continue to put forth my best in this role.

Despite the epic meeting schedule, the bureaucratic chaos, and the battle for agency accountability and competency, I look forward to continuing to be a voice for this rapidly growing community, especially as we continue to transition and ground ourselves as the newly-formed ANC 8F, under the jurisdiction of two different Councilmembers.
