Elysium Wellness was born from both loss and survival.
After losing my mother to cancer, and later becoming a breast cancer survivor myself, I experienced firsthand how much our bodies and nervous systems can carry through illness, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.
I began imagining a different kind of wellness space—one that didn't ask people to simply "move on" after a difficult experience, but gave them somewhere to truly rest, receive, and reconnect with themselves.
That vision became Elysium Wellness.
Elysium will be a restorative facial and wellness studio in Portland, Oregon, rooted in botanical skincare, healing touch, lymphatic care, and nervous-system support.
But at the heart of Elysium is something even more personal:
I want to create the space I wish had existed for me.
A place where someone navigating cancer treatment, recovery, or survivorship can receive gentle, intentional care in an environment designed around restoration—not rushing, fixing, or asking the body to do more.
Elysium will be oncology-informed, with a special commitment to supporting people whose bodies and nervous systems have been through significant physical and emotional stress.
The treatments will combine therapeutic facial massage, lymphatic techniques, botanical skincare, soothing touch, and deeply restorative rituals.
And Elysium won't only serve cancer survivors. It will be a place for anyone who is exhausted, overwhelmed, stressed, or simply in need of meaningful time to slow down and be cared for.
Why the Name Elysium?
When I was growing up, my grandmother lived on Elysium Street. Her home was my sanctuary.
When things felt difficult or scary at home, I could go to my grandmother's house and feel safe, happy, and cared for. It was a place where I could breathe, feel at peace, and simply be myself. (and also watch hours upon hours of Mtv)
For a long time, I have carried the wish to create another Elysium—to recreate that feeling of safety, comfort, beauty, and belonging for other people.
After losing my mother to cancer and later becoming a breast cancer survivor myself, that wish became even more meaningful.
I want Elysium Wellness to be that kind of place.
A place where people can step away from the noise and uncertainty of the outside world, even for an hour, and feel safe, held, restored, and cared for.
And especially for those navigating cancer treatment, recovery, and survivorship, I want Elysium to offer a space where they can feel like themselves again.
Why I'm asking for your help
I'm raising $25,000 to help bring the first Elysium Wellness studio to life.
The funds will help cover:
- Studio remodeling and build-out
- Treatment equipment
- Botanical skincare and professional products
- Linens and treatment supplies
- Holistic facial and lymphatic tools
- Furniture, rugs, and finishing touches
- The materials needed to create a beautiful, calming, professional space
This isn't just a business I'm starting.
It's something deeply connected to my own story—and something I hope will become a source of comfort and healing for many other people.
